Licenses & source code
learnbash.dev is built on free and open-source software. Thank you to everyone who makes it. This page lists that software, its licenses, and where to get its source code.
The Linux system in your browser
The machine you practise on runs Alpine Linux (32-bit x86) with the GNU tools listed below. When you open a challenge, your browser downloads a copy of this system. Many of its parts are licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), which entitles you to their source code:
- Download the complete source code of every package in the exact image this website uses: the build recipes and patches from Alpine, and the original upstream source files.
- How the image is assembled from these packages.
